Girls Aloud confirmed the news last week that fans have all been waiting for - the iconic girl group will be going on tour across the UK and Ireland next year, including three dates in Newcastle.

Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts will reunite for the epic tour in May and June, with presale tickets on sale right now and more to follow this week. As the band's first tour in more than a decade, it will also be the first time that Girls Aloud will perform together since the loss of Sarah Harding, who died in September 2021 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Announcing the tour on Instagram on Wednesday evening, Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine and Nicola said that the shows will be "a celebration of Sarah, our music and our incredible fans". The first show will be in Dublin on May 18, with other dates including Belfast, Manchester, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, London and Liverpool.

Girls Aloud will play at Newcastle's Utilita Arena on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, with a new third date added on Sunday, June 2. The exciting announcement featured a short clip of Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine and Nicola getting out of cars and reuniting in the middle of a traffic jam, holding hands and watching footage of their performances from years gone by as some of their greatest hits played.

The news immediately sent fans into a frenzy, with the Instagram announcement quickly generating thousands of comments with followers saying they already "can't handle" their excitement for the reunion. "Ready to drop every penny I have for this," one fan vowed, while someone else declared: "All calendars for May and June next year cleared... nothing more important than this!!"

Tickets go on general sale on Friday, December 1 via Ticketmaster - but show organisers TEG Live also offered fans the chance to get access to presale tickets, which went live at 9am on Wednesday, November 29, by signing up via email. The presale has already sparked a mad scramble for tickets - stay tuned below for live updates on everything you need to know if you're a Girls Aloud fan.

Cheryl holds back tears while discussing Girls Aloud tour without Sarah Harding

Cheryl fought back tears while discussing a 'magical' Girls Aloud reunion in tribute to late bandmate Sarah Harding. Speaking on The One Show earlier this week, the Geordie singer said: "It's very odd, if I'm completely honest.

"We've found every step of the way of this a bit weird. Being totally honest it will never be the same as it was."

Sarah passed away back in September 2021, following a battle with breast cancer. As Nadine Coyle comforted Cheryl, she added: "But we are just trying our very best to make it magical with Sarah in mind."

Fans hit out at Ticketek over 'nightmare' ticket buying process

With Ticketek also selling Girls Aloud presale tickets today, some fans have slammed the site after a frustrating expeirnece trying to get their hands on a spot at one of the shows.

When the band posted on Instagram this morning, the comment section was quickly filled with comments from fans criticising the ticket-buying process.

"You have picked the worst website to sell them on, how have I been sat with seven devices since eight o'clock and still no luck?" one person raged.

Someone else said: "This is a nightmare, been in the queue as soon as it opened on different web browsers all three of us having no luck and got sent to Nottingham when I selected Newcastle but kicked out straight away. Getting tickets for things now is a joke."

And a third person commented: "You should put on an extra date for those of us who were sitting on Ticketek for hours watching that stupid 10 second countdown."

The Show ticket prices revealed - and fans aren't happy

With the ticket prices for the Girls Aloud tour having been revealed, many fans have aired their frustrations over the "ridiculous" amount they are being asked to fork out to see the reunion live on stage.

As listed on Ticketmaster, the lowest priced seated tickets available start at £58.95 plus a booking fee of around £3, while the highest price goes all the way up to £212.50 for standing tickets at the front. Fans have taken to social media to hit out at the prices this morning.

"Would love to see Girls Aloud but cannot justify those ticket prices maaaaan," one person lamented.

Someone else remarked: "Girls Aloud ticket prices are a bit criminal TBH, I love you gals but not THAT much."

A third fan said: "The Girls Aloud ticket prices cannot be real... surely not!"

And another fumed: "Cannot begin to register my devastation at the prices of Girls Aloud tickets. Hardly any of the £100 tickets (a stretch to afford) are anywhere near the front. £60 tickets for the back of the arena? No thanks. Want to see us? £250 a ticket. What a slap in the face."
